On August 9th, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued a "Chengdu" Metro Line 18 first-stage’s eligible feasibility report, agreeing the construction of the Chengdu Metro Line 18. The Line 18 first-stage sets seven stations, and the maximum operating speed is 140 kilometers per hour.
According to the approval, the total investment of the project is RMB21.079 billion. Starting with the South Railway Station, paving the east side of Tianfu Avenue to the south, the total length of this railway is 41.4 kilometers. It is reported that Chengdu Metro Line 18 line is starting from Chengdu South Station, and the terminal station is Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. The main line is about 58.6 kilometers, setting nine stations. As previously announced construction plan, Metro Line 18 first-stage will be completed in January, 2020.
