At the end of 2011, Erlangshan Tunnel project of Ya’an-Kangding Expressway and Zhegu Mountain of Wenchuan-Ma’erkang Expressway started to be built. Currently, the construction work on planned Tibetan expressways will be accelerated.  Yingxiu-Wengchuan Expressway will be completed and be open to the traffic this year. Ya’an-Kangding, Wenchuan-Ma’erkang, Wenchuan-Jiuzhaigou and Mianyang-Jiuzhaigou expressways will begin to be built one by one. The initial research work on Sichuan-Tibet and Sichuan-Qinghai Expressways will begin accordingly.
